The DFC Diesel Remanufactured Street Series Long Block Crate Engine is a great replacement for the blown engine to your 1998 Dodge 5.9L Diesel. DFC engines are usually matched with near identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies. As a result, you get a smoother running engine that creates less noise and feels more balanced. This remanufactured Long Block includes new pistons, rings, bearings, and seals.

Each 5.9L Street Series engine comes standard with OptiTorque or ARP head studs (depending on availability). The Street Series engine features improved gasket sealing methods in common leakage areas and uses a multi-layer steel head gasket.

DFC replaces all the valve guides with a set of new cast guides in the cylinder head. Instead of just a re-grinding burnt valves, DFC installs all new valves from high quality sources like MAHLE or SBI. To address common cracking areas in the cylinder head, DFC also machines each head to remove the factory hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help eliminate premature cracking, to give you a more durable cylinder head.

The DFC Long Block has all rockers and pushrods preset to factory specifications and includes a remanufactured cylinder head, internal components, front & rear cover, oil pan, and the complete gasket kit for long block installation.

Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.

Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher mileage engines or engines with contaminated fuel.

Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K miles, mandatory if shaft play is present, or if engine was dusted.

Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K miles. 

Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion, boilover, and all-around a better cooling system performance.

This engine is for 1998 models with the “STORM” block.
