The PPE 124062103 Bar and Plate Transmission Cooler can help increase the life of the trans in your 2003-2005 GM 6.6L Duramax 2500HD LB7/LLY. Enhancing the cooling can help you get the most out of your trans as excessive heat and abuse can send your transmission to an early grave. This transmission cooler features direct-fit installation and a tried-and-true bar & plate core. To reduce the speed of the transmission fluid, each repeating section of the Bar and Plate coolers come with an internal alternate square pattern (staggered fins). As a result of the slowed fluid, the heat transfer is greater from the thin sheet (plate) to the louvered aluminum fins.

Direct-fit, quick install. I also did the PPE deep oil pan. Temps dropped about 30 degrees or less. Best upgrade you can do for pulling trailers in hot weather.

I haven't installed it yet as I'm doing some testing, but this is something I would totally buy. I tow a lot. I changed the thermostat to a lower one to help and I want to see how much it helped first before putting this on. Then if I wasn't it lower I'll look into a fan for it. Great product!

It took about 30 minutes from start to finish to install the cooler. All mounting holes lined up to factory brackets. I can’t wait to tow with it and see the trans fluid temps.
