Take your 2017-2024 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Crew Cab, Short Bed further down the road on a tank of fuel by replacing that small 34 gallon stock fuel tank with a massive S&B Tanks 10-1004 60 Gallon Midship Replacement Fuel Tank. S&B has really thought of it all with this tank design. First, the tank is molded to allow for maximum capacity as well as clearance, contouring to allow for full driveshaft travel without any obstruction or possibility of rubbing. A common issue with large capacity tanks is fuel sloshing. S&B cuts down fuel sloshing with the addition of internal baffles midway through the tank.
Looking to run a sump with this tank? Well, S&B is way ahead of you by integrating a sump right into the tank. You heard right, there's no need to drill a big hole in the bottom of your new tank. Just remove the aluminum plug, drill and tap a 5/8" hole and you're ready to plumb right into your fuel system using the supplied fittings that follow the channel in the tank. Sticking with an easy to install theme, your factory sending unit requires no modification for installation, just drop it in following factory procedures. Both the vent and rollover vent are made from brass as well as the transfer pump fitting which gives you the ability to draw fuel directly from the tank instead of putting an additional fuel tank in the bed (transfer pump coming soon). If your factory fuel tank came equipped with a skid plate, it may be reinstalled on the bottom of the new S&B tank! Backed by S&B's limited lifetime warranty.

Best modification you can do if you get fuel level anxiety like I do on long trips. Took about 3-4 hours to install. Watched the S&B install video on YouTube a couple of times before starting, and the video helped a lot. Hardest part was lowering the old tank out with 7 gallons of fuel still in it even though I drove the truck until it showed only 11% being in the tank. Guess the sending unit is off a bit. If doing the installation in your driveway having someone help hold the new tank in place while you get the straps on and bolts started helps a lot. Also had to jack the rear of my truck up a few inches to be able to slide the new tank under the truck between the driver rear tire and step boards. Hitting the fuel station after the install hurt the wallet a bit but it will be worth it not having to worry about finding a fuel station during a long trip or while pulling the camper. These trucks should come with this size tank stock. Last thing you will need a tuner to adjust your truck's fuel gauge to show the correct DTE.
